Pamela Madrid is an American artist, born in Illinois and has resided in 9 states. In 2019, she checked the box on her bucket list to visit all 50 states. Madrid has travelled internationally to South and Central America, Canada, Europe, Asia, and Australasia. Travel has had a significant impact on her life by strengthening her intuitive ability to connect with the human experience. Her art journey began as a child watching her beloved grandmother in her art studio. Madrid quipped, “My grandma was always joyful when she painted, it was infectious and inspiring.” Madrid started her career in nursing and became a successful corporate executive. She now uses those talents and drive to follow her passion as an intuitive abstract artist. Madrid graduated from the Milan Art Institute.
Madrid’s art is known as a deep visual experience. Her inspiring work evokes possibility and empowers transformation. The ordinary becomes extraordinary through illuminating color, shape and form which is birthed through her mixed media process of rich iridescent inks, luminous luscious oils, and gold mica flakes. Madrid allows the painting to tell her what it wants to be. Images emerge and she intuitively pulls them forward to create depth. “Life is amazing and I invite you to join me as we experience and explore visions of this journey,” Madrid says with a knowing twinkle in her eye.
Madrid’s Arizona studio is filled with light and views of desert landscape. An artist-designed metal birdbath sits outside a large window and is frequented often by birds who will offer a song. Madrid brings the outside in, as her studio is filled with a variety of stones and rocks she has found in her travels. Her studio also is filled with a curated selection of art that inspires her, including paintings done by her father and daughter respectively. Currently she is working on her next intuitive abstract series and commission pieces. Madrid utilizes her art in her, “Make Your Mark Leadership Transformation and Empowerment” program she developed for businesses and non-profit organizations. Her work has been sold throughout the United States and is held in private collections.
