The lotus flower grows in muddy water and rises above the surface to bloom with its unique beauty.  It symbolized purity of heart and mind, majesty, grace, knowledge and serenity.  I love that the lotus rises, above the muck and mud and blooms.  We too, the grace, can rise above and become something of beauty.  The lotus is a sacred flower for Hindus and Buddhists.
